The Write Experience

Tracy has had a passion for writing since the Fourth Grade.  In Junior High, she submitted her first manuscript for publication.  Her love of literature led her to study English in University.  After completing her degree in 2000, Tracy went to work at an insurance agency as the assistant in the commercial department.  In the fall of 2002, she ventured back to school to pursue her dream of teaching.

Immediately upon graduation, Tracy was offered her dream job: teaching Language Arts and Social Studies in Grade 8 and 9.   Until the birth of her second child, she spent each day discussing history, great literature and writing skills.  In Grade 9, students are instructed in the writing forms they will use throughout their lives: expository and persuasive writing and business letters.  While she loved teaching, Tracy became frustrated with the disconnect between these necessary skills and the students' view of them at that age.  As text-messaging became more prevalent, Tracy noticed a shift away from correct wording and grammar not just in the schools, but through all communications.  Signage, business cards, brochures, and articles were being published with major errors more and more frequently.

In 2005, Tracy's husband launched Voyager Photography.  This began the family's journey into the small business world.  It very quickly became apparent that the small business owner is an overworked individual; if they're not working, they're not earning an income.  While major corporations have the assistance of copy editors and advertising agencies, small businesses must make the most of their own resources.  There was obviously a need for big-business resources in the small business market.  In 2008 The Write Support was founded to meet this need.

Tracy was a contributing author and the Editor in Chief for Lifetime Success in 2007.  She hopes to pursue a similar project in the near future.  A resource dedicated to people sharing their expertise in a positive and uplifting way is dear to her heart.

In 2010, Tracy began the process of receiving her CPE (Certified Professional Editor) credentials from The Editors' Association of Canada.

Tracy married her best friend Dave in 2001.  In 2006 they had their son, Paul.  In 2009 daughter Mayah completed their family.  Together they love to explore nature, discuss great literature and spend time playing.  Tracy's favorite way to spend a Canadian winter day is to curl up with a good book, or a new notebook and pen, and some fancy hot chocolate in her library-office.
